Corporate Services Officer

As part of the growth in our client services portfolio, we are seeking to recruit an ambitious and driven Corporate Services Officer to join a team of experienced and dedicated professionals.

Reporting to the Corporate Services Team Leader, the Officer will be trusted with a portfolio of clients to manage and build a lasting relationship with. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to job shadow senior team members with ample opportunity to grow and specialise in this industry.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Manage a portfolio of clients and handling client requests in relation to their companies;
  • Collection and verification of due diligence conducted as part of our know-your-client procedures;
  • Setting up of new companies, preparation and submission of statutory filings;
  • Opening / closure of bank accounts and liaising with banks on a regular basis;
  • Maintaining company registers;
  • Liaising and corresponding with lawyers, accountants, auditors and other service providers on behalf of the corporate clients;
  • Liaising with the Registry of Companies and any other regulatory authorities
  • Honouring service level agreements by executing the required services in the shortest time frame possible whilst delivering a service that is of the highest quality, meeting clients’ expectations;
  • Maintain an open dialogue of communication with clients on a regular basis and keeping clients informed on any new relevant developments within their industry;

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role ideally within the financial, legal and/or corporate service sectors;
  • Qualifications in a relevant field – a tertiary level of education would be desired;
  • Impeccable fluency in written and spoken English;
  • A 5-star service mentality, ensuring client satisfaction in every interaction whilst demonstrating a solid business acumen;
  • Strong communication skills, able to engage positively and productively with clients, colleagues and service providers alike;
  • Able to work under pressure, multi-task and meet tight deadlines;
  • Highly organised, efficient and able to manage own workload with minimal supervision;
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft applications;

Junior Accounts Assistant

As part of the growth in our client services portfolio, we are seeking to recruit an ambitious and driven Junior Accounts Assistant to join a team of experienced and dedicated professionals.

The Junior Accounts Assistant will be given the opportunity to learn from and assist more senior team members with the management of their client portfolio. The successful candidate is expected to show an eagerness to grow in his/her career and a willingness to build a lasting relationship with clients.

The duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting other members of staff in the fulfilment of accounting tasks in relation to their portfolio of clients;
  • Supporting the other staff members with the vat return workings and completion of vat returns.
  • Ensure that all the tasks delegated are completed in accordance with statutory requirements and the standards set out by the Company;
  • Liaising with Auditors, Tax and VAT Departments and MFSA, as directed by the Team;
  • Liaising with internal departments to obtain information and supporting documentation to allow for the timely preparation of financial statements and statutory returns.

Requirements:

  • An ‘A Level’ in Accounts;
  • Preferably in the process of undertaking further Accounting/ Bookkeeping qualifications (e.g. AAT or initial stages of ACCA);
  • An excellent grasp of standard Microsoft office tools. A working knowledge of Sage Line 50 will be considered an asset;
  • Experience in an accounting role will be considered an asset but is not essential;
  • A 5-star customer service attitude, ready to work with different clients and surpass their expectations;
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written;
  • Ability to work as part of a team, assisting others where necessary to ensure all deadlines are met;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and a willingness to be guided by senior members of staff;
  • A commitment to develop oneself and to keep furthering one’s knowledge in the Accounting field.

Accounts Executive

As part of the growth in our client services portfolio, we are seeking to recruit an ambitious and driven Accounts Executive to join a team of experienced and dedicated professionals.

Reporting to the Manager of the Client Accounting team, the Accounts Executive will be entrusted with a portfolio of clients to manage and build a lasting relationship with. The successful candidate will also be given the opportunity to assist in tax related matters, including tax returns and tax refunds.

The duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Completing the management accounts of his/her portfolio of clients
  • Preparation and submission of Vat Returns for this portfolio of clients
  • Ensure that all the tasks within the assigned portfolio of clients are completed in accordance with statutory requirements;
  • Assisting with the preparation of tax computations, tax returns and tax refunds along with any other tax related matters as necessary;
  • Liaising with Auditors, Tax and VAT Departments and MFSA, necessary and as directed by the Head of Department;
  • Liaising with internal departments to obtain information and supporting documentation to allow for the timely preparation of financial statements and statutory returns;
  • Involvement in client meetings in relation to own portfolio.

Requirements:

  • Part-qualifications in Accounting or in process of obtaining the ACCA qualification;
  • Previous experience in an accounting role, preferably client accounting;
  • Experience in working on accounts of various companies
  • A 5-star customer service attitude, ready to work with different clients and surpass their expectations;
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written;
  • A proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and internal departments ensuring lines of communication remain open;
  • Ability to work as part of a team, assisting others where necessary to ensure all deadlines are met;
  • Competent in the use of standard office tools including Sage Line 50 and Microsoft Office and other;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with minimum supervision;
  • Ability to prioritise between different clients and deadlines according to urgency and ability to multi-task.

Senior Accountant

As part of the growth in our client services portfolio, we are seeking to recruit an ambitious and driven Senior Accountant to join a team of experienced and dedicated professionals.

Reporting to the Manager of the Client Accounting team, the Senior Accountant will be entrusted with a portfolio of clients to manage and build a lasting relationship with. The successful candidate will also be given the opportunity to assist the other assistant team leaders & members in their technical queries and in the review of the accounts and tasks carried out.

The duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Completing the management accounts of his/her portfolio of clients;
  • Preparation and submission of Vat Returns for this portfolio of clients;
  • Ensure that all the tasks within the assigned portfolio of clients are completed in accordance with statutory requirements;
  • Liaising closely and primarily with the Head of the team with regards to clients’ requirements from an accounting perspective;
  • Assisting the Head and the other assistant team leaders in the reviewing of the accounts of the more junior team members;
  • Assistance in solving high level technical accounting queries;
  • Liaising with auditors;
  • Review of financial statements (including the complex disclosures);
  • Review of Vat Returns of the other team members;
  • Assisting the Head of the Team in the preparation/review of financial projections for entities applying for licenses (especially MFSA licenses);
  • Involvement in the ongoing monitoring undertaken by the accountancy department for compliance purposes;
  • Liaising with internal departments to obtain information and supporting documentation to allow for the timely preparation of financial statements and statutory returns;
  • Highlight and report significant matters on general accounting issues arising to the Head of the Team;
  • Assisting the Head with ensuring that all the team members meet all statutory deadlines (for Vat Returns, Accounts, Tax Returns, etc);
  • Involvement in client meetings in relation to own portfolio and also involved in accompanying more junior members in client meetings.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a tertiary level qualification in Accounting or completed the ACCA qualification;
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in the preparation of management accounts with a proven ability to handle complex accounting technical queries;
  • Experience in working on accounts/financial projections of licensed entities (including gaming companies, financial services, etc)
  • Proven knowledge through training courses attended e.g of IFRSs (including new IFRSs like IFRS 9) and GAPSME requirements;
  • A 5-star customer service attitude, ready to work with different clients and surpass their expectations;
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written;
  • A proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and internal departments ensuring lines of communication remain open;
  • Ability to work as part of a team, assisting others where necessary to ensure all deadlines are met;
  • Competent in the use of standard office tools including Sage Line 50 and Microsoft Office and other;
