CSB Group together with its Online Recruitment arm VacancyCentre.com will be this year attending as the conference’s Main Sponsors.
This year’s will take place at the San Gorg Corinthia St Julians on Friday 5th October and attendees are promised to benefit from a variety of presentations, relevant themes, pragmatic speakers and an enjoyable experience with friends and colleagues. “It is the Conference that no manager of people whether in the private or public sector, whether reasoned or a rising star professional can afford to miss.” says Chief Executive Officer at FHRD, Mr. Joe Gerada.
“The last years have seen great contrasts and changes in the overall shape of the economic activity. The economic crisis, spiraling cost of fuel and energy, demographic change and global competition were the major factors hammering Malta’s economy and which often forcing us to change and restructure. The economic map of the island has widened to include a sizable pharma sector, financial services, remote gambling, communications and other activities.
This development meant that the work environment changed rapidly and so are the resulting challenges for the Human Resources profession which has the prime responsibility to shape and position the business to face competition and ensure long term sustainability. How to manage people at work became the central issue in the board room and this was the opportunity for HR to come of age in terms of its strategic and tactical role. HR became the hub to think new ideas, squaring the circle, inspiring hope, devising schemes and taking the pressure to retain stability and focus on the opportunities that the changing business scenario would offer.
During last year’s HR Conference we challenged whoever is in a position of managing people to check whether they are on board this fast moving train for sustainability. This year we shall focus more on the various Challenges that people managers are currently facing, the Journey that managers have to navigate but also the Outcomes that managers are determined to achieve.
FHRD is proud to announce that the key note speakers for this year are Brian Mayne and Claire Bishop from CIPD. They are both well known for their many years of experience in people management and together with an excellent line up of Maltese professionals shall offer the delegates of the conference a wide selection of practical themes that one can apply at work. This year we are also introducing for the first time a Master Class with the participation of EUROCHAMBRES.
Concurrently with the Conference FHRD shall be organising the HR & Training Fair which like the conference has been growing year after year and for this reason we sought a larger place to accommodate more stands and improved facilities for the delegates. We are also introducing a speakers’ corner in the exhibition area and other areas where exhibitors may make presentations of their products and services to an audience.
Following last year’s success, with over 300 people from over 150 organisations attending the event, this year’s Conference promises to be another event to remember!
The 2012 FHRD Conference will be held on the 5th of October 2012 at the Corinthia San Gorg, St. Julians.
