Matthew joined CSB Group in June 2024 as a Client Accounting Team Leader. Then, he was appointed as VAT Coordinator in October 2025.
He supports clients in achieving full VAT compliance both locally and across the EU. His role covers managing VAT registrations, preparing and reviewing VAT returns, and ensuring the correct VAT treatment based on each client’s business activities. Matthew works closely with clients and internal teams to address VAT queries, assess risks, and identify opportunities for advisory support. He also delivers VAT training, monitor legislative updates, and publish articles and insights on regulatory updates. His role also involves proactive business development and continuous improvement of internal processes.
Education
Matthew attained his ACCA qualification in 2021 and has been a member of ACCA and the Malta Institute of Accountants since 2022. He also obtained the CPA warrant issued by the Accountancy Board in August 2023. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Science in Finance with the University of Aberdeen in order to expand his academic and professional knowledge in the field of finance.
Experience
Matthew spent six years working as a Junior Accountant with a sole practitioner before moving to a mid-tier firm, as a Senior Accountant in its international department. In 2020, Matthew joined a start-up consultancy firm as a Client Accountant Supervisor and subsequently, as an Assistant Manager in its business outsourcing department, assisting gaming and other service-based clients.
