About Roger

Roger A. Strickland Jr. is CSB Group's Director and offers consultancy to iGaming operators interested in setting up or relocating to Malta.

Roger joined CSB Group in 2006 as an External Consultant to the Group’s iGaming business consultancy division and was subsequently appointed Group Director.  Roger offers consultancy to companies setting up in Malta to make the right choices, understand the licensing and regulatory requirements as well as assist in setting up their respective Malta-based operations.

Education

Holding an Honours Degree in Management from the University of Malta, Roger has proven to be key to the smooth incorporation of iGaming companies. He is also a graduate from the Institute of Tourism Studies with a Distinction in Hospitality Management and for eight years worked within tourism related businesses with a special emphasis on e-business and public relations.

Experience

With a wide network of contacts and know-how within the online iGaming industry, Roger brings with him a wealth of experience and is strategic in bringing key stakeholders together. Since 2006, he has also served in the position of Executive Director, representing various iGaming entities internationally. Fluent in English, Maltese, Italian and French and with knowledge of Dutch and German, Roger’s network is highly international.

He currently also holds directorship positions for CSB Trustees & Fiduciaries Limited (a member of the CSB Group) as well as Malta Sotheby’s International Realty – where he is involved in the brokering of some of Malta’s most valued and unique luxury properties. Roger is also involved in the CSB Groups relocation division assisting with the promotion of Malta’s unique residency & tax solutions, among which the Global Residence Programme (GRP), Highly Qualified Persons Rules (HQP) and The Residence Programme (TRP).

Memberships & Affiliations

Roger was also elected to the Malta Remote Gaming Council (MRGC) Board (2008-2010 committee). MRGC is continuously involved in discussion with stakeholders, regulators, ministries, and their members on various iGaming issues. As a seasoned iGaming expert, he contributed to various Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) committees on gaming standards. He now also sits on the GamingMalta Foundation board – a non-profit organisation founded by the Government of Malta and the Malta Gaming Authority and launched in March 2015.  It’s objectives include the promotion of Malta as the leading iGaming jurisdiction, attracting new companies to set-up in Malta – a centre of excellence in the iGaming industry. Roger is also a member of the International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA) and an affiliate member of the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL). 

He has served as a Local Councillor in the locality of Naxxar, is Honorary President of the Swieqi United Football Club (1st Division) and Executive Committee Member at Mosta F.C. a Local Maltese Premier Division Football Club. Amongst his many interests, Roger is also a Volunteer of the Order of Malta as well as a member of various other philanthropic organisations. Since 2016, Roger also serves as the Honorary Consul to Malta for the Republic of the Philippines.
