About Jeremy

Jeremy Mifsud Bonnici joined CSB Group as an Advisor - Legal in August 2024.

Jeremy plays a key role within the Regulated Industries team, specialising in the iGaming and Financial Services sectors. He supports clients in crucial areas including AML/CFT laws, Data Privacy, and Corporate Matters, ensuring regulatory compliance and offering expert legal advice.

Education

Jeremy obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Malta in 2022, where he completed a dissertation titled 'Migrant Detention on Private Vessels: Legal, Humanitarian, and Commercial Implications'. Building on this foundation, he pursued and graduated with a Master of Advocacy (M.Adv) degree from the same institution in 2023, whilst also serving two years in the University Student Council (KSU) as Social Policy Officer and President. Jeremy has also completed a Master of Laws (LL.M) in European Business Law at the University of Malta. His thesis explored the 'Regulation of General Purpose AI under the EU AI Act', reflecting his interest in emerging technologies and regulatory frameworks.

Memberships & Affiliations

Jeremy has been a member of the Malta IT Law Association (MITLA) since February 2024 and obtained his warrant to practice law in October 2024.

Experience

Jeremy's legal career began in 2018 as a trainee with a prominent banking institution. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience in various in-house positions within both B2B and B2C gaming companies. His roles have involved key areas such as gaming law, commercial law, data protection, privacy law, and AML compliance. Additionally, he has served as a key function official, with a variety of Gaming Companies. Jeremy has been involved in numerous academic quality assurance audits, and contributed to government boards in the areas of education. His legal expertise was further honed through a pupillage with the Office of the Attorney General, where he specialised in criminal law.
