Senior Tax Executive
CSB Group, est. 1987 offers its clients a broad spectrum of specialised Business & Commercial Services. As part of the growth in our client services portfolio, we are seeking to recruit an ambitious and driven Senior Tax Executive to join a team of experienced and dedicated professionals on fulltime basis. Reporting to the Manager of the Tax Department, the Senior Tax Executive will be entrusted with a portfolio of clients to manage and build a lasting relationship with and entrusted to mentor junior members within the team.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Support the tax advisory department in the drafting of opinions and advice, as well as in other projects and restructuring procedures;
- Address ad-hoc tax queries raised by clients on the Maltese tax system;
- Assist the team in identifying clients which may be impacted by international tax directives or policies;
- Prepare individual tax returns of varied complexities, including those under Maltese residential schemes;
- Liaise with Malta Tax and Customs Administration on client tax matters;
- Prepare corporate tax computations, returns (including fiscal unit returns), shareholder registration, and refund claim forms for a client portfolio of varied complexities;
- Review corporate and individual tax returns prepared by other team members;
- Manage respective client portfolio to ensure compliance as well as timely submissions of necessary tax documents;
- Assist with the obtaining of relevant data which may lead to business development initiatives;
- Assist in the preparation of training materials, articles, and web content on tax topics;
- Collaborate with team members to enhance client service offerings and suggest service improvements.
Requirements:
- Qualified in Accountancy or equivalent (ACA, ACCA), with a CPA warrant;
- Tertiary qualifications (MIT, ADIT) are advantageous;
- Over 2 years of tax experience with expertise in Maltese tax;
- Strong work ethic, ownership of tasks, and excellent communication skills in English and Maltese;
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes like Excel, Outlook and Word as well as SAGE;
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken. Solid communication skills, with proficiency in speaking and writing;
- The ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information, whether it’s information for the company or for individuals;
- Ability to work both independently and in a team;
- Problem-solving ability and highly organised.
