Tax Officer
CSB Group, est. 1987 offers its clients a broad spectrum of specialised Business & Commercial Services. As part of the growth in our client services portfolio, we are seeking to recruit an ambitious and driven Tax Officer to join a team of experienced and dedicated professionals on full-time basis. Reporting to the Manager of the Tax Department, the Tax Officer will be entrusted to support the team with the necessary tax compliance procedures for our portfolio of clients, while managing and building a lasting relationship with clients.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist the team with preparing the necessary corporate tax documents for a varied portfolio of clients;
- Support senior members in the preparation of tax returns for individual clients;
- Support senior team members with client ad-hoc queries as may be required;
- Support the team in gathering data on clients which may be used for assessments relating to
international tax policies such as Transfer Pricing; - Assist with ad-hoc administrative tasks related to tax filings, ensuring timely submission of documents;
- Retain up-to-date data within internal reports used for monitoring client data;
- Assist with the filing and storage of relevant documents;
- Assist with the completion of tasks related to internal company procedures for the tax team;
- Collaborate with the team by contributing ideas for process improvements and supporting efforts in ensuring client satisfaction.
Requirements:
- University degree in Accountancy or in the process of obtaining the relevant qualification (ACA, ACCA, or working towards certification);
- Basic understanding of the Maltese tax system and willingness to learn.
- Up to 2 years of experience in tax or accounting roles;
- Strong work ethic, ownership of tasks, and excellent communication skills in English and Maltese;
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes like Excel, Outlook and Word as well as SAGE;
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken. Solid communication skills, with proficiency in speaking and writing;
- The ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information, whether it’s information for the company or for individuals;
- Ability to work both independently and in a team;
- Problem-solving ability and highly organised.
