Malta Signs Double Tax Treaty with Turkey

On the 14th of July 2011 Malta and Turkey signed an agreement that aims to prevent double taxation between them.

What this would result to is an increased flow of investment between Malta and Turkey. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister for Malta Tonio Borg signed the agreement for Malta, whereas Turkey Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek signed for Turkey.

The agreement is another step taken by the Maltese government towards further encouraging international trade growth, particularly in the financial services sector.
