A Tradition of Giving: CSB Group’s Annual Fundraising

In 2024, the annual team Christmas event once again became a powerful force for good, as team members united to raise funds for charity.  Rather than opting for exchanging gifts, CSB Group’s employees came together to make a meaningful impact, demonstrating the true essence of the season. What makes this initiative truly extraordinary is the support of the Group’s Directors, who not only matched the contributions but tripled the total amount raised, significantly amplifying the impact.

CSB Group is proud to share that this year, it surpassed its previous record, setting a new milestone for philanthropic efforts. More than just an annual tradition, this initiative reflects the company’s shared values, strengthens its sense of unity, and highlights the meaningful difference that can be made when the team comes together. The Malta Hospice Movement remains one of the key beneficiaries of CSB Group’s fundraising efforts, as it continues its vital mission of providing high-quality palliative care to those facing illness. This organisation recently inaugurated St Michael Hospice, a state-of-the-art facility designed to offer compassionate and dignified care to cancer patients, those suffering from neurological conditions, and serious heart and kidney disease, amongst others. This newly opened complex features a 16-room in-patient unit, each with its own private garden access and bathroom, as well as expanded day therapy services and multiple out-patient clinics. CSB Group’s contribution will support the organisation’s ongoing efforts to provide comfort, care, and essential resources to patients and their families during life’s most challenging moments.

Dar Merħba Bik is another beneficiary, standing as a safe haven for women and children escaping domestic violence. Offering both emergency shelter and longer-term residential support, the foundation helps survivors rebuild their lives through comprehensive care programmes. At Dar Merħba Bik, women receive not only a secure place to stay but also crucial assistance in areas such as legal aid, financial literacy, emotional well-being, and employment opportunities. The second-stage facility, Dar Santa Bakhita, provides transitional apartments designed to foster independence, allowing residents to regain stability before reintegrating into society. CSB Group’s support directly contributes to the foundation’s mission of empowering women and their children to build a brighter future.

Additionally, our fundraising efforts extend to The Sovereign Military Order of Malta, an institution with a centuries-old tradition of serving the vulnerable through medical, social, and humanitarian aid. Our donation will support one of its most heartfelt initiatives, the annual pilgrimage to Lourdes, where volunteers accompany those experiencing health and mobility challenges on a deeply meaningful journey of faith and healing. This experience offers both physical and spiritual respite to those in need, with the Order’s commitment ensuring that every participant is cared for with dignity and compassion. Through this support, CSB Group contributes to a mission that exemplifies the essence of service and solidarity, offering comfort and hope to those who need it most.
