The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has issued a notice to its licensees that with immediate effect, the monthly reporting of the Licence and Compliance Contribution is to be submitted through the Authority’s web-portal.
For this purpose, licensees are invited to access the portal via the following link (https://portal.mga.org.mt/Home/) and sign-in with their current credentials.
Compiling and submitting the monthly Licence and Compliance Contribution Report
Upon login, Licensees are to find their pending submissions on the Timeline Activity, which is inclusive of an item entitled “Tax Report – January 2019”. This Licence and Compliance Contribution Report is to be compiled and submitted by not later than Wednesday, 20 February 2019.
Please be aware that the tax submission follows a self-explanatory 5-step approach:
- General Tab – This tab is pre-populated and displays information pertaining to the licence. This tab is non-editable and as such no intervention is required by the licensee.
- Compliance Contribution Report Tab – This tab features separate windows for all approved types of gaming services which need to be populated accordingly. Gaming Revenue is to be reported in line with the linked Directive on the Calculation of Compliance Contribution, whereby Total Wagers, Bonus and Total Winnings are to be reported separately.
Furthermore, the attention of the licensees is drawn to the data pertaining to the calculation of the 5% MT Players which is to be reported in a dedicated field. - Payment Tab – This tab contains a breakdown of the report being submitted, inclusive of the amount of Licence and Compliance Contribution due for the reporting month, the payment of which is to be administered within the same tab. Licensees are solicited to provide the Payment Reference Number in their submission.
- Attachment Tab – This tab enables licensees to submit requested documentation per Gaming Service type.
- Confirmation Tab – This tab provides a historical overview with regard to Licence and Compliance Contribution activity to date. It is to be noted that the clicking of the “Submit” key in this tab signifies that the Key Compliance Officer is validating all data provided in the preceding tabs.
Licensees are informed that upon the submission of the monthly report, the system will automatically generate a draft template for the due compilation and submission of the next Licence and Compliance Contribution Report which will be due by the 20th calendar day of the following month.
The Authority would like to clarify that albeit some remote operators have manually submitted their January 19 Licence and Compliance Contribution Report, these still require to submit their report via the web portal. Any inconvenience is regretted.
