The Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Program (CIP), was established by the Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Regulations in 2014 and amended in 2016. It allows individuals and their families to obtain a Citizenship of the country after making an investment and passing due diligence tests.

Why Antigua and Barbuda?


Located in the heart of the Caribbean, the islands of Antigua and Barbuda are around a thousand miles to the east of Jamaica and 500 miles from Trinidad, on the coast of South America. The history of Antigua dates back to about 30 million years ago. These islands are renowned for their reef beaches, crystal clear waters and resorts.

Having more than 365 beaches – one for each day- Antigua and Barbuda are very popular tourist destinations and these beaches and resorts are the key driver of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), generating around 60% of the island’s income, with key target markets being the U.S., Canada and Europe. Due to deepwater harbours, these islands are a yachting-hub and thus, became popular destinations for high profiles, the likes of Sir Richard Branson, Eric Clapton and Oprah Winfrey.

Antigua and Barbuda is a member of the United Nations, the British Commonwealth, Caricom, and the Organisation of American States (OAS), among many other international organisations.

Why should you get an Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship?


This program requires individuals to make an economic contribution to the country, and in exchange, the applicants and their families are granted citizenship after passing a due diligence process. There is a minimum residence requirement of 5 days on the island. 

An Antigua and Barbuda passport gives its holder visa-free access to near 150 countries, including the Schengen Area and the UK. 


How to gain Citizenship by Investment in Antigua and Barbuda?


Citizenship in Antigua and Barbuda is granted to individuals and their families who make an investment, which can be made in different forms, into the country:

  • Non-refundable Contribution to the National Development Fund (NDF) of USD100,000 plus other applicable fees
  • Investment in Government Approved Real Estate projects of USD400,000 if a single investment or USD200,000 if joint applications.

The above investment is for based on a family of 4 and does not include other fees like Due Diligence, Professional fees or any other costs.

The investment in Real Estate must be held for 5 years, after which applicants can choose to sell it.

Aside from these financial criteria, applicants undergo a strict due diligence process and they are subject to background checks.
