Introduction to The Malta Residence and Visa Programme (MRVP)

Living the life in an exclusive EU location.

The Malta Residence and Visa Programme Regulations is regulated by the Legal Notice 288 of 2015: Malta Residence and Visa Programme Regulations, 2015, amended by Legal Notice 189 of 2017 issued as subsidiary legislation of the Immigration Act (Cap 217).

Malta had gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1964 and has been a member of the EU since 2004, after a history dating beyond 5000BC, passing from the Phoenicians and Arabs to the Knights of St. John, the French and later to the British Empire.

As a jurisdiction for doing business, Malta offers a straightforward process for company incorporations and a favourable taxation system. Also, as English is the official language, Malta is home for a large ex-pat community where different cultures and likeminded people find their home.

This mix of cultures and open vision has shaped Malta as a location where you can easily find yourself at home with warm welcoming people, a Mediterranean feel and an economy growing strong year after year.
